We are hiring a School Bus Monitor at our location in North Smithfield, RI!
- Hourly Rate: $17-19/HR
- Hours:
- Split shifts for school bus routes AM and PM.

Who you might be:
- Veteran seeking PT work.

Responsibilities:
- At every stop, you will exit the bus and assist with street crossings for all students.
- Assist students entering and exiting the bus.
- Check under and behind tires before entering back onto the bus.
- Assist students with any other accommodation included in the students’ transportation plan.
- After the end of each school run, assist the driver in performing a spot inspection to make sure all students are off the bus.
- Assist in the buckling of children, or other safety equipment, as outlined by safety laws.
- Assist in the evacuation of children off the vehicle during emergency situations.
- Assist the driver with directions as defined by a pre-determined route sheet.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including state and national criminal background checks, registry checks, drug testing, and any other screenings required by law, Rhode Island DMV, school district policy, or DATTCO policy.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly and perform required vehicle inspections.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and use vehicle safety equipment.
- Ability to assist passengers during boarding, exiting, and emergency evacuations.
